London

Is there anybody here from London?

I am returning to London next week, and I think that any local TIG members should become acquainted.

MIT Continues OCW

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is about to officially launch it's OpenCourseWare (OCW) project, since a successful year long beta programme. OCW is MIT's project to publish all of it's course materials, for free and easy access to anybody that wants it. This is a very important step towards bridging the digital divide; MIT's level of education and knowledge is high and world-renowned, now anybody can logon to the website (http://ocw.mit.edu), and view courses on many subjects, from Nuclear Engineering Course 22.312: Engineering of Nuclear Reactors to Political Science 17.251: Congress and the American Political System.

There are one or two drawbacks however; language is still a barrier, and so is access to these materials. Many people around the world don't have computers or internet access.

Business Opportunity

I am looking for a partner to support a youth-led e-commerce project. I am starting a website selling luxury goods, including leather goods, perfumes, pens, watches of luxury brand names etc.

If you are in a position to make a financial investment or if you sell a product which would fit the above description, please contact Luke Cholerton (lncholerton@yahoo.co.uk).

In the meantime, you can see the website at http://www.aquuda.com/cholertons.
