Ignorant 'community' members

I'm sick and tired of seeing the people that mass-post updates on TIG. I often visit the updates.takingitglobal.org page, and I'm constantly bombarded by the same people posting messages which are basically copied and pasted from news websites; it stops me seeing other people's updates and is only relevant to a few community members. (To name a few: bdmahbub & LLOYDLUNA - fix your community attitude or stop posting!).

I think something needs to be done to limit the amount of a single person's updates are displayed on the updates.tig page. This is a community website, these members have to respect the others and stop bombarding us with almost irrelevant content that stops other users' updates being displayed.

I hope someone's listening that can make a change!

FC Porto win European Champions League!

The electric game just finished with four minutes extra time and three goals all scored by FC Porto (Alberto, Deco & Alenitchev respectively). What an amazing game that was!

The Portuguese Prime Minster & President were in the crowd; the shame was the I wasn't there as well. Now I must go and apologise to the neighbours for all the noise...

(Grande Porto!)

Fortress of the Moon...

...that is what the name 'London' means. I found that out today and it really amazed me. What a romantic name; I don't think it suits the personality of the city, but it's a cool meaning.

This week was good; things are moving on in various ways. If you read my last update, you'd have read that I was losing my motivation, well this week has so far been a good pick-up of my motivation and in turn, concentration. I hear that there will be a WSIS meeting in Geneva before the Hammamet Prepatory; it's not set in stone yet, but is intended to set the agenda for the Prepatory. I don't think I'll be going to that.

I'm rather frustrated with my new Apple iBook. Apple has always appealed to me because of their apparent reputation for flaw-less performance and reliability. As I had yearned to give up the Microsoft cage for so long, as soon as I had the opportunity I bought a Mac. It seems that they are not as reliable as they seem - where Windows (versions below 2000) used to have the blue 'screen of death' - from which one couldn't recover without a reboot, Apple OS X has the grey screen of death that does the same. So if Microsoft could achieve getting rid of such a flaw, why can't Apple? It's not just this error; there are various - it just annoys me because I put so much hope into Apple. I used to yearn for Apple, now I can't wait to get my Dell back, although I will be keeping my iBook too. Oh well.

Dying motivation

I feel like I'm trapped in a tunnel, and I'm finding it hard to keep focussing on the light at the end. I have so many dreams and big ideas, some of which I have been sure of for a long time; they seem to be dying slowly and I don't seem to have the motivation or concentration to be able to pick them back up and make them work. Often, life throws something at me that knocks me right off track - at the moment, it's my imminently pending homelessness; this is now more of a reality than ever before. Things like this can really hinder ones ability to concentrate on things that require concentration.

The speed at which life changes really amazes me; we can never be so sure of ourselves and our position in life - sure enough one day we will all be set back beyond we could possibly imagine. I'm just fedup of picking up the pieces again.

Porto in Champions League Final!!!

This evening, Porto FC (my team) beat of FC Deportivo La Coruna in Spain in the second leg of the semi-finals of the European Champions League. This means that FC Porto will either play Chelsea or Monaco, depending on what happens tomorrow. Porto, as usual being the under-dog are now looking hopeful that they will be the winners of this league two years in a row, which has only ever happened once - Liverpool, '77 & '78.
